APR & Fees

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What is APR?

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is the percentage you'll pay in a year to borrow money. APR includes the actual cost for borrowing money and any applicable interest rate. There are multiple types of APR that can be associated with your credit card account:

    • Purchase APR: Applies to all purchases you make with your credit card
    • Balance Transfer APR: Applies when you transfer a balance from another credit card onto your Sportsman's Guide credit card account
    • Cash Advance APR: Applies to funds withdrawn as cash from an ATM using your Sportsman's Guide credit card
  • My payment is due today. What's the latest I can make a payment online without getting charged a late fee?

To avoid a late fee, your online payment must be successfully submitted by 8PM EDT on your due date.

To pay your bill, visit the Payments section.

  • Why was I charged a late fee?

To avoid a late fee, payments must be successfully submitted online by 8PM EDT on or before your due date.

Any payments submitted after 8PM EDT on your due date will be applied to your account the following day, incurring a late fee.

If you believe your late fee was charged in error, please send us a message in Secure Message Center or call Customer Care at 1-888-252-5557 (TDD/TTY: 1-800-695-1788).

  • Is there a fee for using my Sportsman's Guide credit card to withdraw cash at an ATM?

Yes, there is a cash advance fee. You may also be charged a separate fee by the bank that operates the ATM.

The ATM cash advance withdrawal limit is $400.

You can find more information about cash advances in your welcome kit, or by visiting the Cash Advance FAQ page.

  • When does my variable APR change and how will I know when it changes?

Variable APRs are determined by the U.S. Prime Rate in the Money Rates section of The Wall Street Journal on the last business day of the calendar month. For more information about APRs, please refer to your Credit Card Agreement.

Your current APR will always be reflected on your latest billing statement. You can access your statements from the past 24 months on the Statements page.

For statements not available online, please send us a message in Secure Message Center or call Customer Care at 1-888-252-5557 (TDD/TTY: 1-800-695-1788).

  • Do you issue convenience checks?

We're sorry, but we do not issue convenience checks.

You do have the option to withdraw up to $400 from any ATM as a cash advance from your Sportsman's Guide credit card account. Please note you will be charged a cash advance fee and a separate fee by the bank that operates the ATM.

You can find more information about cash advances in your welcome kit, or by visiting the Cash Advance FAQ page.
